Assabet Valley Special Needs Department
The Assabet Valley Special Needs Department is dedicated to assisting each student in his or her quest to achieve to their potential.
Special education teachers provide service to students based on co-teaching and consultation models.
Regular education teachers and special education teachers work together to provide service in supported English and Supported Mathematics classes using a co-teaching model of instructional delivery.
Special Education teachers provide consultation in selected Science and Social Studies classes.
General Academic consultation service is provided by the student's Special Education liaison.
Vocational consultation is provided by Special Education staff assigned to specifically identified technical areas. The Team Chair provides general consultation services to all technical programs.
Related services are provided to meet a student's needs by a staff of guidance counselors, adjustment counselors, school psychologists, and speech and language therapist.
