Design and Visual Communications

Design and Visual Communications is an exciting, fast paced, creative, and ever evolving program. Curriculum is designed to expose students to vast career opportunities that exist in the creative/multi-media, communications field.

Students receive training in visual problem solving across various media, including interactive design, Information design and graphics, illustration, cable and web broadcasting, video editing, motion graphics, print, web, video and TV broadcasting.

Photography further develops the art of communication by crafting images that are both technically sound and creatively enticing. Students learn to manipulate, capture, and control lighting. Projects include building portrait, commercial, and artistic composition skills.

Students learn how to problem solve, experiment, and explore to create visual solutions using the Adobe® Creative and Multimedia Suite of applications. Programs used on a daily basis include Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, After Effects, and Sound Booth. The students are Adobe certified in a minimum of one Adobe application. Several Adobe certifications are offered, including Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Rich Media.

All of this comes together in producing a future multi-media professional prepared to enter a two-or four-year college or entry-level employment.
