Reading A is a course designed for the student who requires instruction in decoding and encoding skills and also in comprehension and vocabulary. Approaches include direct instruction and computer-assisted learning.

Reading B and C are courses designed for the student who has acquired decoding skills but whose reading comprehension is two or more years below grade level. Students are grouped according to their reading comprehension deficit. Approaches include direct instruction as well as computer-assisted learning
